Luggage Storage and Delivery at Haneda and Narita

You do not have to drag your bags across Tokyo. Between airport storage, same-day and next-day delivery, and city-centre lockers, you can move hands-free from the moment you land. Here is what each airport offers and what to know before you ship.

Haneda: storage and delivery counters

Left-luggage counters take bags for up to two weeks (limits: about 300 cm total dimensions, 30 kg). Rates run roughly ¥800–2,000 per day by size. Terminals 1 and 2 open 8:00–19:30; Terminal 3 is staffed 24 hours. Haneda — baggage storage →

For shipping to or from your hotel, courier counters sit in the arrival and departure lobbies. In Terminal 1, Sagawa runs 7:00–20:00 and Yamato 7:00–21:00; in Terminal 3, JAL ABC accepts shipments 4:00–25:00 (pickup 24 hours) and Yamato runs 5:00–23:00. Haneda — delivery counters →

Some counters offer same-day delivery to a Tokyo hotel — JAL ABC, for example, forwards bags dropped off by late morning for the same evening. At Terminal 3, the Keikyu counter (expanded in March 2026) handles same-day delivery, with counter hours to 20:00 and airport pickup 16:00–20:00.

Narita: storage and delivery counters

Narita's baggage-delivery counters run 06:30–22:30 (extended when the last flight lands later). Same-day delivery to a hotel is accepted until 14:00 and covers central Tokyo (the 10 central wards) and designated hotels in Urayasu.

Coin lockers are touch-panel and Suica-enabled — daily-rate at Terminals 1 and 2, hourly at Terminal 3, where the 2nd floor has oversized lockers. See the official service pages: baggage delivery and coin lockers.

Taking big suitcases on the train

Oversized baggage — total dimensions of 161–250 cm — needs a free advance reservation for the seat with the luggage space on the Tokaido, Sanyo and Kyushu (and Nishi-Kyushu) Shinkansen; boarding without one costs ¥1,000. Bags 160 cm and under need no reservation. The Shinkansen lines run by JR East and the Narita Express (N'EX) have no such reservation system — their in-car luggage space is first-come.
